Wouldn’t it be nice if the clothes, shoes, and boots you buy also lasted long and were water repellent? There are a few things you can do about it. Buy good quality stuff and use them as intended. Washing

Different materials require different detergents. Of course, you are free to use your grandpa’s bar soap on everything and wash the stuff in a bucket of cold water or use the boiling water container in the sauna. However, don’t call us if you managed to create pink doll dresses out of your blanket shirts. The care info on the clothing is there for a reason. Textile waterproofers

Tired of getting your clothes wet one way or the other. The regular clothes get soaked from the outside and Gore-Tex membrane clothes get wet from the inside if you tend to sweat a lot. However, if you take some cotton or cotton blend clothes and impregnate them with wax, you get a water-repellant garment that also breathes. Our foremothers and fathers sure knew their stuff! Remember that you cannot rub this on everything. If you put it on your tailored suit, the result will be fairly exotic.
