Särmä Coolmax T-shirt

Särmä Coolmax T-shirt

19.99 EUR

Coolmax is a brand name many people know and trust, a leading manufacturer of moisture wicking fabrics for active sportswear. Our Coolmax T-shirt is made for all those times when you need something better than just an old cotton tee, a comfortable tight fitting cut, raglan sleeves and a great hem lenght makes it perfect for sports, hiking or just everyday wear in warm weather.

A large half a litre bucket of black leather grease, just as good as any fine brand, but without a fancy name and thus cheaper, a lot cheaper.

This black grease is just the stuff for any colour of leatherwares, from black leather jackets to boots. Probably includes some beeswax too, giving the grease a nice scent and water repellency.

Instructions of use

  • Clean the surface to be treated.
  • Take a small amount of grease on either a little rag, brush or your fingers. It will get messy anyway, so the finger is probably the best alternative. Or two fingers.
  • Apply the grease in a circular motion.
  • Let soak in until the wet grease disappears from the surface. Repeat a few times if necessary. It's best to apply several thin layers than just a few thick ones.
  • Some time after the treatment, wipe the leather with a cotton rag. If you don't, there will remain a wax-like coat. It's not necessarily a bad thing depending on the use, and it can be scrubbed off later too, but it will not be as easy as moments after the treatment.

Special info for professionals

Mix with tar (50/50) to get a traditional, special Finnish ointment for waterproofing leather footwear meant for rough use. Not for kiddie boots with membranes!

Kovemman luokan nahanhoitoon. Tervan ja tämän sekoitus pitää hyvin veden loitolla, mutta haju on hyvin mielenkiintoinen etenkin naispuolisten henkilöiden mielestä!

Does what it says on the bucket. If you can read Finnish. Otherwise follow the instructions in English on the website and you will get a value for money leather treatment that seems to waterproof well and cover up minor scuffs and marks as well as a polish - a little seems to go a long way. Used it on boots, shoes and leather jacket so far with good results.
I find it best applied with fingers as with a wax that used to be popular in the U.K. but is now no longer available - so I use this instead.

Used on an old leather jacket and some Austrian BW paratrooper boots with a shoe brush. Brought new life to the old jacket. One or two layers of the grease on black leather boots gives a bit of colour, moisturizes and softens the leather and leaves a matte finish. It did not cover up some coloured scuff marks on the boots, perhaps some more layers would do this as it's not as thick as shoe polish. Could potentially get a shiny polish with some effort, not sure.
