Swedish M39 External Frame Rucksack, Surplus, Used by Rhodesian Police
Well what do you know, our South African supplier stumbled upon old Swedish M39 "Moose packs" with some spicy history behind them; these were a part of the inventory of the BSAP in Rhodesia! Who knows if they actually saw active service during the Bush War.

Rhodesia was an important thing when it comes to military history and politically the hottest potato of them all. A country that had to make something out of nothing and to some degree supported only by South Africa had to accept any aid they could get. So, after the Second World War someone shipped these packs to South Africa. From there they found their way to the inventory of the Rhodesian BSAP (pictorial evidence of course impossible to find). After the war someone got these out of Zimbabwe and back to South Africa where our supplier got them. And now they came to Finland, making almost a full circle, landing just one step East of their original home.
Disclaimer: Rhodesia isn't really known as a place where they were fanatical with markings on the equipment. This means these have the original Swedish markings and that's it. So, unlike with the fate of Jamesi Bondi, we have no concrete evidence about where these packs have been buried during their existence. However we do trust our supplier completely and that is why we dare to sell these as Rhodesian issue.
Condition
Used stuff, in OK serviceable condition. These can actually be used too if you want to.

Some word of advice regarding its size: as I also have the norwegian „Ludvig“ army backpack, the M39 is smaller than it looks on the pictures and smaller than the ludvig, so for an overnighter you will likely have to make use of the straps at the bottom of the ruck for your sleeping system. But, it is also considerably lighter than the norwegian one and the steel frame thinner yet sturdy enough.
So if you are into any kind of old school mountaineering, hiking or bushcrafting, get one of these!!!
