We got a one-off batch of these natural high-resin fire-starting sticks for situations where you cannot source tinder from your surrounding but don’t want to use weird chemicals either.

Features

A small pile of tinder sticks. 100% natural fire starter, no chemicals have been added to the process. The wood has up to 80% resin content, which means that it burns strong and lasts long. A quick, easy, and reliable way to get a fire going. Since these don’t have any sci-fi chemicals, you can store these in your pack or pocket without staining or otherwise affecting anything around them.

Materials

These are made from waste material, the stumps left from cultivated pine trees felled in Guatemala. To be precise: Pinus Oocarpa and Pinus Caribaea. Made in Honduras. This product received certification under the SCS Material Content Certification Program for using 100% reclaimed material.

Use

Getting a fire started with these is not complicated. You just whittle small shavings with a knife and use them to start a fire with matches or fire steel. The manufacturer says that these also work when wet, but our experience is that completely soaked thin shavings won’t catch fire without napalm. However, these won’t soak through unless you store them in a puddle.
