Leap Day Essentials

There are many traditions revolving around Leap Day but there is one that many countries have in common: On Leap Day women may propose marriage to a man, and if he refuses, he needs to buy her something. In Finland we buy fabric for a skirt, in Ireland it's said to be a gown or a fur coat, and in English you should get the poor woman some gloves.
