If you're wondering what's the difference between the military boots with or without a membrane, read a bit further. Military boots with a membrane are a little more modern because they're as waterproof as the rubber boots but breathe better. army boots without a membrane breathe even better but they aren’t as waterproof. However, with the right care and grease, they can be made pretty waterproof.

In "unstable" conditions - like on a long hike - military boots with a membrane are probably your best bet, but life goes on without one as well. In everyday use, the benefit of the membrane will often just go to waste.
