In this group, you find our hiking boots, the footwear that we recommend for rough outdoors adventures. This group has both high-cut hiking boots and mid-cut hiking boots. If you are looking for low-cut lightweight hiking shoes, check out these babies.

Buy the best hiking boots that you can afford

The most important part of your hiking gear is without a doubt the boots. It isn’t the knife, even though those are cool, too. People who have tried to walk with crappy boots know why you need to look for the top hiking boots you can afford. Shitty shoes don’t last very long and your feet will die even quicker. Therefore, don’t go looking for the “cheap hiking boots”. It is better to save some money until you can buy something good. Your feet will thank you.

Waterproof hiking boots

Today the majority of hikers trust Gore-Tex hiking boots. And why the hell not. They are quite waterproof but at the same time, they also breathe. If you need to wade in muddy ditches, rubber boots are your best option. However, in difficult terrain and on longer hikes, your feet will start hating them and you.

Hiking boots for women and men

Don’t try to find cute hiking boots that best fit your astral chakra. Instead, get a pair that feels good on your feet. These are usually unisex, so they are at the same time men’s hiking boots and women’s hiking boots, as long as the size and shape are ideal for your feet. We primarily have brown and black hiking boots, but there might be some other colors occasionally. These also fit bigger boys and girls. However, we don’t unfortunately normally have hiking boots for kids and toddlers.

Proper shoe care is important

No matter how good hiking boots you get, they might die prematurely if you don’t take care of them. There are special shoe care products for boots that have a waterproof membrane and you should use them. If you prefer leather hiking boots without a membrane, you can make them fairly waterproof with grease. Check out our shoe care and maintenance section. If you aren’t that familiar with shoe maintenance, please read our shoe care article. It has useful info for both types of hiking boots.

Merino wool hiking socks and good insoles

Now matter how good hiking boots you have, shitty socks will ruin your day. They either give you impressive blisters or then your horny boots seduce them off your feet all the time. Buy high-quality hiking socks, merino wool of course. Get a few pairs while you are at it. If you are into winter hiking or have some issues with sweating, you could also wear two socks on top of each other. And don’t forget good-quality insoles, or you end up with aches and pains already before the first day is over.
