Särmä TST L2 Mid Layer Set, Merino Wool

A functional mid layer set for demanding active use. The long hem, raglan sleeves, and clever cuffs and collar guarantee a comfortable fit. Made from a comfortable and reinforced merino wool blend.

This set includes the L2 Turtleneck Shirt and L2 Long Johns. These are available separately, in case you want the top and bottom in different sizes.

The midweight merino wool knit makes these very multifunctional: these are not only for the extreme cold, but something you can use all year round. This mid layer offers added comfort and warmth during chilly summer nights when trying to catch some sleep in that lightweight sleeping bag.

L2 - Mid Layer

The second layer of the Särmä TST clothing system wicks moisture from the base layer and gives moderate thermal insulation. The L2 can also be used as a next-to-skin layer, which further adds to the flexibility of the system. Our mid-layer is made from a midweight merino wool blend; it is a bit more relaxed, fitting and noticeably warmer than the base layer.

Size info

These are made with a close fit but do have clearance for a base layer worn underneath. The material is stretchy; if you look at the measurements of the garment itself, you'll note that it's actually smaller than the body measurements and stretches to fit.

The front, back, and sleeve lengths are measured from the collar seam. The chest width is measured pit to pit. Inches are rounded to the nearest tenth of an inch.

High-quality Merino wool

Merino wool is a fantastic choice for next-to-skin wear; most notably, it feels good against the skin and retains its insulating properties even when soaking wet.

Wash and care

This merino wool blend is machine-washable at 40° C / 104° F, but washing is seldom necessary - wool cleans itself. Don't leave it in a wet lump. Reshape it gently while still damp. When not in use, air the shirt out and give it a good shake after that.
