This category includes our field hats and Finnish "verikauha" field caps. These are one of those categories that are arguably fully army related stuff, sure you're it is perfectly fine to use these in your free time. As usual, field cap selection includes new and military surplus hats. Our own production's hats are Finnish related field caps and "verikauha's."

Verikauha is a Finnish word which would be translated to "blood ladle." The model came to Finland from Germany in 1918, where it spread rapidly for civil war's whites troops. After that it fastly became the official Finnish army hat. The origin of the term "verikauha" might have sunk in oblivion unless it can be found from someone's grandparent's recollection, you never know. However, the first ones to use that model were Germans and Austria-Hungary's troops in the WW1.

In the early 2000s, the "blood ladles" were removed from the FDF, when caps and berets took over. We have created a reproduction of an old verikauha Finnish M36 field cap which is from the WW2 era. And on top of that, we produced a modern model as well from the current FDF camo. This model is also available in different colours.

Baseball caps

The baseball cap needs no introduction but will get it nevertheless. When the archaeologists define the typical folk costume of our era, the baseball cap will quite certainly be part of it. This cap was originally developed in the USA, not very surprisingly for baseball. However, from there it spread across the world and is nowadays used pretty much for all occasions. It is light and compact, doesn’t make you sweat, and protects your noggin from the sun. In other words, an ideal summer hat.

The baseball cap is also a perfect tool for the sneaky advertiser or works as your own gang identifier. Some folks like logos, some don’t. No worries, we have a solution for this, too! Our Särmä caps come with the stylish Varusteleka logo on a velcro base. So, if you for some strange reason, don’t want to advertise us, you can slam a flag or a morale patch on it. If you hate all logos with a passion, put a reflective patch on it. Those you cannot hate because they keep you alive in the dark.
