This is the thicker, winter weight bag of the Dutch modular sleeping system, perfect for spring and autumn use. We wonder how anyone in their right mind would get rid of this kind of stuff for this cheap!

A very typical sleeping bag - opened with a tough zipper, and has a hood with drawcord tightening. However, the most intriguing feature is the integrated layered system: essentially two separate layers of stuffing, leaving some room for air between them. The bag feels pretty warm, but no hard data about temperatures is available. We suspect that this would still work on its own when the temperature drops a bit below freezing.

This can be used in conjunction with the summer model bag. The result is an extremely warm bag for freezing temperatures.

Made of thin nylon fabric, with polyester stuffing inside. Machine- or hand wash in 40 degrees. We suggest getting a liner bag and wash it instead, as frequent washing doesn't do good to the sleeping bag.

No compression sack included.

Size info

We have given approximate centimeter sizes (maximum height of the user) to go with the letters.

Condition

In used, but good serviceable condition and repaired if deemed necessary.

Kävipä taas peikkomainen flaksi, tai sitten armeijan ylijäämä ei aina olekkaan jäämää. Täysin uudenveroinen pussi ja laatu painii ihan eri luokassa kuin vanha Fjällrävenin pussukka. Tilava jalkopääty jota oon kaivannut, todella laadukkaan tuntuinen kaikin puolin ja lämmin. Tilasin myös tuon oman sisäpussin joka lisää hygieenisyyttä, mutta ei jotenkin istu pussiin. Suosittelen ennemmin Sveitsin armeijan käyttämää sisäpussia, jos haluaa enemmän mukavuutta/lämpöä samaan hintaan.

En oo koskaan tuntenut tarvetta haistella morttien säkkihikeä, joten pesin tuon välittömästi. Jos noita ei nyt jatkuvasti pese en usko sen syövän lämmöneristävyyttä niin merkittävästi kuin moni sanoo. Kuivatteluun kannattaa varata 2-3-4 tuntia puhaltimen äärellä. Imee uskomattoman määrän vettä ja normikone ei saa lingottua tuota edes puolikuivaksi

Absolutely awesome sleeping bag for winter use, especially for the price tag. Warm, easy to fit in, well made in general. Mine had some minor repair on the outer skin, but it's more of an icing on the cake for military surplus enthusiast than minus point. Used it in Finnish winter (about -15 degree celsius) but kept me warm, along with my summer sleeping bag (rated for +1 degree comfort), despite moisture freezing in the insulation. I got medium and it's very spacious for 165cm male enough to put clothing, even with summer sleeping bag in. Has some "surplus, old warehouse smell, but alright.

Itselleni sattui melkoisesti pesty yksilö kohdalle, sillä lappujen tekstit ovat haalistuneet lukukelvottomiksi. Tästä johtuen säkki ei ole lämpöarvoiltaan paras kapistus. Kestävyys ja käyttö on kyllä hyvää, mutta en lähtisi pelkästään tällä pussilla kylmillä keleillä reissuun.

This is an excellent sleeping bag for the price. I think I ended up with the 190 cm version (should have got the 200 cm version). Completely zipped up it fits a bit too snug for a 6 foot person of somewhat solid build, but is ok if you don't move around too much. Definitely worth the purchase as I use it in my emergency car kit with a Dutch surplus bivi bag (reviewed separately). I used it in my back yard with the bivi bag and Finnish sleeping bag and it performed well in heavy rain between 12 to 15 degrees Celsius (heavy rain rolled off the bivi bag). I will take it fishing in Northern Ontario this summer with the bivi bag (and Finnish sleeping mat) and am confident that it will do well in wet overnight conditions. I believe that the bag has lost some of its original "loft", and does not "puff" up as much as a new bag. For the upcoming winter where I am outside up to (sometimes unexpected) -25 degrees Celsius or so I would not risk using this bag for planned cold weather expeditions (even with thermal underwear), but will likely get a new Carinthia bag (probably the Finnish version, or maybe the Defence 6) to be completely confident of performance.

Spent a few nights in northern Sweden and Finland in early autumn when got a bit frost (1-0C) and actually sweat quite a lot. This sleeping bag is really warm and comfortable but also quite light weight.
The one I got looked used but in very good shape and was worth every Cent.
