BW NBC combat gloves, Nomex, Green

Full Nomex combat/NBC gloves with a dimpled surface on the palm side and a water-resistant layer inside. These are "nach TL", which means they're made to the German army specs. The price is relatively cheap for a factory-new made item, as the model is simple and manufacturing volumes large.

Hook-n-loop adjustment on the wrist and the long shaft can be folded. Good, form fit. The wrist adjustment may or may not be useful for you; if not, just cut the strips off.

Three layers of materials

The top material is green Nomex all around, which means these will not melt on your hands and will not burn easily anyway.

The middle layer is water repellent material of some kind, we're not quite sure what it is, might contain activated charcoal usually found in modern NBC clothing. The seams are not taped, so these are not fit for diving. In normal use, the gloves are essentially waterproof.

And last, against the skin, there's a thin, mesh-like fabric layer.

The gripper surface on the palm side is not very "sticky", so when handling very smooth objects it might not grip like some others.

Usage

Perfect stuff when good handling is needed. Working with small bits and pieces poses no problem (e.g. vehicle parts, guns, and such). However for demanding and continuously abrasive work use these are not meant for - everything is a compromise, these offer great dexterity and grip, but not the same kind of toughness that thickest work gloves give.

For hot & dry summer these might not be ideal; being water-resistant, they do not also breathe as well as single-layer gloves. However, they do keep your hands pretty safe from water coming from the sky and ground.

You could also purchase one size bigger than normally and wear our Särmä TST L1 liner gloves underneath, making these kind of a cold weather gloves.

These are made by Mil-Tec, but to the German Bundeswehr specs, which means they are good proper quality kit. NSN 8475-12-330-3631 to 8475-12-330-3636 according to size.
