Cold and nasty weather is a very difficult environment for tasks that demand nimble fingers. The L1 liner gloves were designed to solve this very problem! This thin and snug fitting merino liners fit under regular gloves to offer additional insulation without sacrificing the fine use of your fingers.
Thick insulated mittens and gloves are a necessity in extremely cold environments, they do a great job at keeping your hands warm but also make all kinds of tasks difficult. Lightweight liner gloves help bridge that gap between warm weather and heavyweight winter gloves by extending the use of your regular gloves far into the cold and wet seasons.
Liner gloves must be fitting and as thin as possible, otherwise they just don't work. But with such lightweight and intricate construction comes many problems, how can you make them strong enough? We went through numerous other manufacturer's gloves when designing these and came to the conclusion that the single biggest challenge is in the seams, no matter how high-end you go the seams are always the first to give up.
With generous inlays and chain stitching combined with our trusted 80/20 merino/polyester blend we came to a functional result. These are pretty much as strong as liner gloves can be without sacrificing functionality. When used correctly the L1 liner gloves will serve you a long time!
The first layer of the Särmä TST clothing system, tasked with moisture management. A good next-to-skin baselayer keeps you feeling comfortable in any conditions to do this it needs to be lightweight and effectively moisture wicking. We use a lightweight merino wool blend for our base layers, a natural and very functional material for this purpose.
Take a look at our Särmä TST Clothing System!
Made from 80% merino wool and 20% polyester, weight 180 g/m2. The polyester content adds abrasion resistance to the otherwise quite weak wool. Merino wool is a fantastic choice for next-to-skin wear, most notably it feels good against the skin and retains it´s insulating properties even when soaking wet.
Mulesing free! All our merino wool products are made using mulesing-free certified merino wool.
Made in Lithuania.
This merino wool blend is machine-washable at 40 degrees Celsius, but washing is seldom necessary - wool cleans itself. If you do wash them, don't leave the gloves in a wet lump after washing. Reshape them gently while still damp and hang to dry. When not in use, air them out and give them a good shake after that.
