What is a bayonet frog, really? Why isn't it called a sheath? Don't know, don't care. Here are some British bayonet frogs from the PLCE era or even earlier. These are Skrama-compatible, too!

We have a special relationship with these bayonet frogs for an unusual reason: they fit the Plastic Blade Covers of our Skrama 200 and Skrama 240 so well that we officially recommend these items as a sheath option. The weapons-grade tactical appearance certainly fits some loadouts much better and the price is an absolute steal. By the time you're reading this you have probably made up your mind and the rest of the text serves no purpose.

The inside is lined with a grippy rubber-like fabric and has a plastic stiffener to maintain a flat front. The back has either a PLCE or Pat58 type belt loop system at two heights, and a male side-release buckle for lower hanging. If you're interested in using the hanging strap, we sell a 40mm female side-release buckle fit for the purpose.

The length of the frog itself (excluding the carrier strap) is 35 cm / 13.8" and the width is 7.5 cm / 3". The girth of the Skrama 240 Plastic Blade Cover is 136 mm / 5.35" and it goes in with a very tight fit: smaller items can be retained quite well but larger ones will probably not fit.

Boil half a liter of water and pour it slowly (it trickles from the bottom) into the frog to expand and soften it before inserting the 240-length blade cover. This is not necessary but allows you to go deeper. Be careful to not burn yourself.

Because the DPM is more advanced it is also heavier. The green one with Pattern 58 -type attachments weighs 130 g / 4.6 oz and the DPM-patterned 150 g / 5.3 oz. Trim the loops and buckles as necessary to save weight.

How to kill with a bayonet

There's a legen-bloody-dary clip of a training session from the '80s. Lighten up your day and view the video on YooToob. The link is not broken, we hope. Sue us if it is.

British army surplus

The condition is very good, most of these are completely unissued! Expect light signs of use and storage dust, nothing worse.

The DPM version works like a charm for the Skrama 240. I didn't need to use hot water, but I don't think the cover is ever coming out. It's a reeeeeeeeally snug fit.

Pistän kuvia Instaan jahka saan jotain aikaiseksi.
P.S. Odottelen edelleen milloin Skaramalle saisi molle tuppea.

Tight fit, no kidding. Skipped the boiled water suggestion and beat the 240 cover into place with a rubber mallet.
Before seating the plastic blade cover in the frog i had trimmed off about 4-5mm from the bottom part using a box cutter and a fine metal rasp to finish the burrs. Just enough to make the tip of the blade sit flush with the very bottom of the cover - this made the cover sit way better since the top part doesn't protrude as much as pictured here on the product page.

Fits my Skrama 240 like a glove!
No boiled water needed!
Took a flyer and bought a second one for a Silky saw, fits the Gomboy 300mm even better!
Thanks fellas for some great kit!

Works well, as much as I wanted the nice leather sheath I am alas too poor. This is an extremely viable (and more tactical) alternative that is 1/5 the price. Followed their advice about the water, surprisingly ended up making the 240mm blade cover too loose, so I reinserted with a bunch of duct tape and now is a tight fit

I bought green for the Skrama 240. The seamstress made it for me with camouflage pattern M05.

Lukekaa ohjeet.

Se että en saanut tikkauksia löysättyä yhtään yrittäessäni vasaroida ja survoa koko kehonpainollani teräsuojusta väkisin tämän sisälle kertoo tuotteen kestävyydestä paljon.

The male side of the buckle on this frog was actually to clip onto the female side of the buckle that comes attached to the scabbard that sits inside this frog to hold the original bayonet. It's not made to hang the frog lower on your leg but can easily be used to do so. Here is a youtube video showing this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OewFkBCamQ4

Will these fit the Glock knives (FM78) as well?
