This lightweight poncho liner was meant as a replacement for the wool blanket. Compared to the blanket, this is a lot lighter, a bit warmer, dries faster and can be squeezed into a very small space. These are ERDL-camouflaged but mostly made in the 80's.
Originally put into service during the Vietnam war, this became the standard issue sleeping gear for hot climates. It is mostly meant to be used in conjunction with the rain poncho, as a liner. The process is very simple: tie the liner to the grommets of the poncho, then button the poncho so it resembles a tube. Get in and sleep. The US Army states that the lowest manageable temperature is about +10 C°.
Measurements about 157x204 cm.
As said, this is very light at about 650 g, and can be compressed to a size smaller than a football. Materials used are lightweight ripstop-nylon and polyester filling. The condition is used but serviceable.
