US New-Issue Duffle Bag, Surplus

Price 49.99 USD excluding sales tax

Do you remember the good ol’ days when TV was analog and high-quality hockey bags were cheap? Nowadays the only cheap bags are the shitty ones equipped with a self-destruct mechanism or war-proof milsurp. Here you have the latter, an olive drab US military duffle bag that you can carry in your hand, on your shoulder, or on your back. It will fit your sports gear, tactical equipment, hunting gear, or everything you need at the cottage plus beer. If they won’t fit, buy another one for just your beer.

  • We don't know when this product will be restocked. With surplus the restock date is unknown due to sometimes poor availability. Request restock notification and we will email you as soon as this product is available.

Features

This is a very simple soft duffle bag without any plastic stiffeners. It has a large main compartment with a heavy-duty double zipper. No other pockets except a flat velcro pocket for a name tag at one of the ends. Four compression straps at the mouth of the bag to make overpacking easier. These also have a possibility to add a lock but the lock isn’t included.

This sports duffle has carrying handles on top and shoulder straps at the bottom. Furthermore, it has handles at the ends. So, you have very versatile carrying options and it is also easy to lift out of boats, trucks, and anywhere really because you can grab it from any direction. Made from water-resistant, thick, and durable 1000 Denier Nylon duck cloth.

Sizing

These fit more than you usually need. The outer measurements are c. 79 x 32 x 31 cm (31” x 12.6 x 12.2”). Because this is a soft bag, the measurements change depending on what kind of stuff you shove inside. The weight when empty is just 1.26 kg (2.8 lbs).

Condition

Used US military surplus, in other words, very durable military gear. The condition varies quite a bit. Some of these have been used quite nicely but some have a spray-painted spot, possibly to mark that they were removed from active duty. Some can also have some surplus dust and dirt plus frayed seams, and other signs of use. If you only accept new and spotless, buy a new bag. However, a new bag of this high quality will cost craploads more.

A fantastic bag for stuff that gets sweaty and dirty when used. Such as hunting and tactical gear. Wash it thoroughly and you can transport whatever you want. You can leave that pristine white brand bag to gather dust in your closet because it is too pretty to be used.

As a soldier currently serving in the Army, these are the toughest, best thing I've been issued. The rifles are rusty, the clothes are starchy and rip easily, but the duffels saw the hardest use of basic/field work and still are sturdy as ever.

If you aren't in the US, these are a bit more expensive than MSRP, but I don't think there's anyone else reputable selling these in Europe.

These truly are some of the best duffels to overpack and abuse! The zippers will still work, even when it feels like you're almost breaking it. If you pack heavy and edged things often like tools and weapons, this is the bag you want.

As you pack, bring the sides in to feel how much room you have left. Once you get to the point where the zipper ends wont meet, youre almost at the limit.

A side mount and rolling of the bag while crushing and zipping will pack even the most stubborn loads.

Forget about the lock loop on this one; if the zippers can be opened, someone can still remove things from the bag. A smaller cable or smaller clasp on the lock that can go through the zippers will actually keep it closed.

Be careful with the "backpack" straps, as they like to keep things fresh and suddenly come loose, usually when you're in public like an airport or bus terminal.

These bags also LOVE sand. Sticks to them like crazy. You will almost certainly have a fist or two of sand in each bag. A shake session and some deliberate brushing will help.
