Wouldn't you love to have the possibility to carry boxy items on your ALICE pack with ease? Well here's an accessory designed to do just that.
Note: this item is just one shelf. The frame and second shelf in the pictures are for reference only.
The frame of the ALICE pack is a carrying platform that can be used to haul anything you can tie onto it and lift. This shelf expands your possibilities by offering a 10 cm (4") deep Box Zone (tm) for ammo boxes, canisters, a radio and so on.
The material is aluminum alloy with a black coating and attaches simply with hooks to the transverse flats of the frame. The frame has provisions for two shelves mounted and the shelves have holes for bungee cords or webbing.

A very strong, stable shelf; it turns your ALICE frame into a packboard capable of taking large loads (like a full 20 litre jerry can). Please note you'll need at least two full-length cargo straps to lash cargo to the frame, and to use the frame as a packboard you have to remove the pack bag from the frame.
If you have an ALICE pack with frame, a shelf is a very useful add-on. It installs very easily and weighs almost nothing.
