Heat Layer System

These liner gloves are part of the Heat Layer System, which was developed for military units in Germany and Austria but now popular worldwide as multifunctional outdoor gloves. With this system, you combine different inner gloves (liners) with other layers depending on how much the weather hates you. This way you have one glove system that works in very versatile weather conditions and you get insulating air in-between the layers.

1st Layer: Liner gloves

The first layer of the system offers 10-20% of the total heat output. Choose the liner according to the weather and what you do in it.

2nd Layer: Warm Shell Mittens

Materials

The main outer material is breathable microfiber, which is highly wind and water repellent. The Primaloft Gold & Grip Control insulation is environmentally friendly synthetic down with 100% recycled content. The combination provides a lot of warmth without being bulky. It is also moisture-regulating and breathable. Furthermore, it retains the insulating effect even in wet conditions and dries quickly.

The palm and inside thumb are made from very durable goat leather. It is warmer than high-tech fibers, highly breathable, and pleasantly soft yet resilient. It is also strongly water repellent. For leather care, the manufacturer recommends their own HEAT Leather Balm but you can use other suitable leather care products as well.
