Just like a bridge between the sweater sleeve and the glove. Being military issue, these are made to last and easy to repair. Being very likely made of 100 % wool these certainly are an eco friendly choice and they will disintegrate with time if you lose them in the woods!
Swedish surplus from some ancient times
May even be WW2 era manufacture. All looked unissued, but don't bring out the pitchforks and torches if you get used ones. Also, please try not to mind the musty warehouse smell which only gets worse if these get wet! It might wear off with time.

It's amazing how something so simple can provide such great comfort. It is a short tube, made from sheep, with one part sown shut to create a thumb-hole.
Mine smelled like old wool. Nothing wrong with it. As far as I can tell they were never issued.
They were tied together with some tighyly knotted string though, which took some effort to cut off without eviscerating the wrist warmers themselves.
I am seriously considering buying a few more pairs just so I have a lifetime supply.
