Gentlemen's fashion from our Western neighbor! These work jackets are old - very old - Swedish army issue and still in very usable shape, although a bit rough in appearance.

It's fashionable to look a bit shabby, and this jacket will take care of that for you. These army work jackets are made of thick grey cotton with a button-up front and two hem pockets, the jacket doesn't encourage you to pack unnecessary stuff with you. Adjustment strap on the back to finish the fit!

Can be washed in 60 degrees Celsius and being cotton, they soak in dye relatively well but no guarantees about the stitching.

Size info

Sizes in the Swedish system (user's recommended chest in centimetres), with user's recommended height and chest in centimetres in the brackets. The height size info is for the anal micromanager kind of people only, as a proper way to use this is to roll up the sleeves.

Old vintage

Like said before, these are old, most probably from the war years but still going strong. All are used, usually faded, repaired and rough but serviceable.

Mine came in looking more like a light brown/olive than gray but it's still an attractive color. It also had epaulets so it looks slightly different than the version in the picture. Nice sturdy cotton but gets pretty wrinkly so definitely a very casual look. My buttons look to be painted white in some kind of rough paint (or maybe it is scale on the metal?).

I am 5'6, 36 chest and got the 92 (166-172 / 88-92 cm). The arms actually fit perfectly but the body is a little long. If you are closer to 172, the arms may be short. I like the high armholes. It's a generous fit for the chest. Because of the length and extra room I am wearing it more as a jacket than a shirt. The sunglasses model must be wearing a size down to get that fit. A nice, unpretentious jacket overall. Mine was in used condition with some loose threads and fading but that all adds to it's workmanlike character!

Värjäytyy oikein helposti ja kestää paljon! On ollut eräreissuilla päällispaitana, niin vuorilla kuin metsissä. Vaatevahaa olkapäille ja niskaan niin paljon parempaa ja yksinkertaisempaa saa hakea! Edelleen ahkerassa käytössä.

On my order I specifically requested the non-epaulette, brown/olive version and it worked, so thanks to Daniel N for the heads up !
What I got was khaki colour, no epaulettes, no repairs or damage, some very slight oil/paint marking. Overall its a nice, simple, old style cotton work jacket. I'm a somewhat lanky 6ft/182cm tall, 98 cm chest and got the 168-174/96-100 size and found the chest and body length a good fit. As the website description implies the sleeves are on the short side, but for me acceptable, particularly if you're wearing it over a Varusteleka fleece.

Inexpensive sturdy cotton work jackets. Quality is great. I bought two 108s. These were darker brown/taupe with epaulettes and one had buttons with some kind of metal rot (white grainy stuff). I bought four 104, these were mixed dark and light, some with epaulettes and some not (one had only one epaulette, lol). Some were mended, some practically unused. Some with plastic buttons, some with metal buttons. I also bought two 100s. These were the lightest and most worn, nicely mended but with a mystery spot or two. Not a problem whatsoever. None of the shirts had adjustment straps in the back.

Still years and years of use in these, perfect as work shirts for woodworking or a day out. To make the fabric less wrinkly it is very easy to stretch it a bit while wet. Do this for a couple of washes and the fabric will be less wrinkly. Easy.

I have a chest measurement of 105 and fairly skinny arms, the 100s fit well. If you have a similar chest measurement but have thick upper arms, the fit might be tight.

I am withdrawing half a star for the unpredictability of looks, colour, condition compared to the pictures available. But I am happy with what I got.
