Swedish Ankle Boots, Brown, Surplus

Price 59.99 USD excluding sales tax

True vintage! These brown boots were on issue in the Swedish army during the last proper war. Actually some of these are from that era. A tough proper boot, these still won't give up the ghost – they just keep going.

Oh the times when armies had to make their kit properly to last in conscript use. Take these boots for example. You'll find nothing fancy in these, except for the fact that they're ridiculously well made out of bombproof materials. Nothing but leather and steel here! Yes, steel; the soles are leather with horseshoe heels and toe protector plates (usually, but not always, we won't do sorting). The hardware is there only to protect the boot from wear, not to make the life of the soldier comfortable. Speaking of this, the irons are extremely slippery on even surfaces like tile floors! The remedy is not to walk indoors, or change them to rubber, which admittedly is lightyears better in just about every aspect, except for losing the sound it makes against hard surfaces.

Size info

These are field boots, meant to be used with heavy socks. With thin cotton socks you will get blisters. If however you just have to use thin socks, you can adjust the fit with double insoles or something. Some insoles are a must, without them these are horrible.

Condition

Old & used and may require some repair, mainly around the heel part. Any decent cobbler should be able to help. At the same time you should get the rubber taps installed. You should also grease the boots well, they have been sitting in warehouses for quite some time. The soles also look pretty horrible, but that's how leather soles look when subjected to field use. Get a pair of new laces too, the ones that come with the boots may be crappy.

The condition and age vary between pairs. The latest batch also includes different heights and sole designs. Every pair seems to be a unique individual!

Swedish Army Surplus

Even with the costs of possible repairs, these are still affordable for what they actually are. However, please do understand that after all, you are purchasing 70 years old used boots. We can't give extensive guarantees for footwear of that age.

Ordered and received a pair of the later rubber soled boots instead of these ones. Simply put, I didn't get the right product.
