Practical for packing and transporting all kinds of gear that you don't want to seal into an airtight bag and also allows you to identify the content. This is the 40-liter version.
Sweaty or otherwise wet gear may have to be packed and transported for some time before you can hang them to dry. Breathable mesh stuff sacks are an excellent choice for this and you don't have to open these to see what's inside.
The shape is oblong to use the volume more efficiently than totally round sacks.
