Flapped pouch for one 10-round double-stack .308 Win magazine (non-AICS). The flap can be closed using the fold-over tab, hook-and-loop fastener, or both.. This magazine pouch also features a PALS and belt compatible attachment system.

Durable Savotta pouches with great features and attachment options now available!

Features

When you need to carry magazines in conditions other than dry indoors, you might want to consider mag pouches with flap closure. A flap or lid will stop mud, snow, and dirt from getting in your mags and consequently in your weapon system. Generally speaking you should avoid e.g. chambering muddy or sandy rounds in your weapon.

The pouch fits one double-stack 10-round .308 Win magazine (e.g. Tikka CTR/TACT A1 or Magpul PMAG10). It can also hold, for example, one 5-round .338 LM TRG-42 magazine. However, a 10-round AICS-type magazine will not fit – it’s simply too bulky. The pouch also features:

  • Protective lid w/ a tuck tab and hook & loop closure
    • Integrated hook & loop "deactivation flap"
  • MOLLE/PALS and belt attachment (45-50 mm / 1.8"-2.0" belts)
  • Drainage grommet

Tuck tab system

The lid is closed using a polyethylene reinforced tuck tab and hook & loop. A tuck tab is mechanically very simple, but extremely reliable compared to plastic buckles, press studs or just using hook & loop. This system is almost identical to how the attachment straps are locked into place on Savotta PALS attachable pouches, just shorter and with a grip tab for rapid opening.

The hook & loop allows the pouch to stay securely closed even when half empty, and to be quickly closed without using the tuck tab. The hook panel can be covered with an integrated deactivation loop flap for silent operation.

Note: You might want to bend the tuck tab of a brand new pouch to a banana shape – it will work a lot more smoothly this way. Don’t worry, the polyethylene will not break when bent this way.
