A proper poncho is a very viable substitute for a waterproof jacket, especially so If you need to cut down your load weight or just want to carry less stuff. By swapping your waterproof jacket/suit and tarp for a poncho, you can easily shave off some of your load weight, and best of all, you have a few less bits of gear to look after.

Materials

Upgraded material: The main material is ripstop reinforced 100% polyamide, DWR treated, and PU coated. Waterproof at least up to 10000 mm. We use the same fabric in our Särmä TST Tarps and Backpack Rain Covers.

Olen melko pitkä (~190) ja vähän jää ranteet esiin toiminnassa ja pääsee hihat kastumaan. Pitkävartiset käsineet tai vettä edes vähän paremmin pitävä takki alla on hyvä lisä jos on pidemään liikkeessä.
Muutoin tämän kanssa on helppo liikkua, housujen ja takin taskuihin pääsee helposti käsiksi (rintataskua joutuu vähän hakemaan), on kevyt, materiaali jopa hylkii vettä sanoisin joten ei jää märäksi, eikä tämä ole ikinä ns. tiellä.
Annan neljä tähteä ainoastaan, koska hihat kastui oman varustelun pettäessä. Pidemmät lappeet tässä kuitenkin haittaisivat toimintaa ja tämä hyvä juuri tällaisena.

The item seems sturdy and of good quality for its price, but it comes with a significant drawback. The hood is excessively large and lacks any adjustments at the back or sides. This makes it challenging to use, as it consistently falls onto your face. Moreover, the adjustment rope in the front completely obstructs your vision when you attempt to use it. The design is utterly impractical.

keeps you dry and is very sturdy. i love it and when rain is on the horizon i'll always have it with me. but only four stars because the hood is very impractical as a review before already set. this thing would be perfect if you had something to adjust it. the cords do not do this properly

Hey out of curiosity does anyone know if this is compatible with poncho liners? I don't own any at this point yet since sleeping bags have always worked for my purposes but for a military grade poncho I would think it wether or not it could be used with a poncho liner. It's kind of a nitpick but then again for a 90 dollar poncho I think that's information some people might want to know before purchasing. If it doesn't certain people may not want to put the cash down for it. I love Sarma products and I'm sure this is a great poncho but if you're gonna pay extra for a mil-spec Finnish camo poncho it should say if it's compatible with a liner as that would add at least a little more value to it. Especially when there's poncho liners being sold for 60-70 bucks on the same site. I just want to make sure people know they're paying for in full from the description/images on the store page.

Could only test it dry so far, but it works fine with cap.
I can even fit my wide brimmed hat under it. So I have some more head space ;)
