Särmä Merino-Silk Scarf

A square scarf is a very versatile and comfy accessory for everyone and their uncle. We wanted a bit more sophisticated scarf to accompany our off-road scarves. So, our material wizards added some silk in the Merino wool, creating a super soft and timeless classic that feels almost erotic on your skin. Works great in the city, at the office, at home, and on less extreme outdoor adventures.

Properties

Merino wool-silk is a very functional material that combines the best properties of both natural fibers. The end result is a super soft scarf that is warm in the winter but not hot in the summer. Of course, the thickness puts the hottest days outside the comfort zone. And it isn’t perhaps warm enough for conquering the North Pole. All our merino wool is mulesing-free.

The scarf has raw edges on purpose so that it drapes nicely over your shoulders. Worry not because we have tested it and the scarf doesn't start fraying.

Use

This square scarf is similar in size to the merino wool Särmä Square Scarf but it is somewhat thicker, softer, and warmer. It is not a Stuffy Von Fancypants gala scarf but a tad more dapper than our banjo-playing action scarves. It is perfect for the urban environment but also works nicely outdoors. It is not ideal for extreme environments, so we don’t recommend using it when crawling through muddy trenches or when bog snorkeling.

Care

Airing out the scarf is often enough. If you really feel like washing these, silk wash at 30° Celsius (86° F) with a silk detergent and with same-colored laundry. Don't leave them in a wet lump after washing. Reshape them gently while still damp.
