Good ol’ denim jacket with carefully selected details. Not bleached, sand-blasted, dragged behind a car, or otherwise fashionably pre-destroyed. Use as it is or decorate it with rivets and trash band logos.

Features

There are some military vibes on this jacket, making it very functional but the design is nevertheless relaxed. Comes with four pockets: two buttoned outer breast pockets and open side pockets. There is a button closure in the front and button adjustment on the waist and the cuffs as well. The silver-colored buttons are nickel-free and come with our logo.

Proper no-nonsense materials

When trying to find denim clothes, they are usually pre-washed or pre-torn crap. Not the case with this jacket! It actually looks like a new denim jacket with an even color. The only treatment these have had is the removal of starch, and that's it. This means the jackets are also pre-shrunk, so you don't have to worry about that either.

These are made of the same fabric as our Särmä Common Jeans which makes them very comfortable and pretty hard wearing. The materials for the black and blue are slightly different but have common properties. The fabric has some stretch and is lighter than the denim of a century ago. Fabric weight 326 g/m2 (11.5 oz). The metal parts on these are nickel-free.

  • Weight of the blue fabric 390 g/m2 (11.5 oz/yd2), Cotton 98,7% and Elastane 1.3%
  • Weight of the black fabric 322 g/m2 (9.5 oz/yd2), Cotton 98% and Elastane 2%, Stay Black -treatment

    Sizing

    The size menu has the recommended chest circumference in brackets. The cut is roomy so pick a smaller size if you want a closer fit. These are designed to fit a wide variety of people from average-height men to tall guys up to 190 cm (6' 3"). If you're very tall and sleeve length is important, a bigger size yields more length to the sleeves, and the shoulder seams drop a bit lower.

    Below are some measurements of the garment itself. The hem circumference is 6 cm / 2.35" smaller than the chest in each size. The sleeve length is from the shoulder seam to the end of the sleeve including the cuff.

A very well constructed jacket. The denim seems like it could hold up to years of (urban) abuse like a fall off a bike or catching a snag on a piece of public property. There is ample pocket space for whatever is larger than your keys in the interior pockets. The material also breaths quite well.
I also think it looks quite nice.

It's a nice jacket, the cut has room for a hoodie underneath if you follow the size recommendations. For me the sleeves are a bit too long, but fold them over once and they're perfect. Remember that you can use the waist adjustment if it looks a bit billowy in the back. It's a good denim jacket, with a bit of stretch for comfort, which probably upsets the purists. And it's proper black, not greyish "I've washed this 50 times" kinda-sorta black.

The fabric is lighter than my beloved heavy-duty jacket from an American brand, but that is what I was looking for, a jacket that's also comfortable on warmer days. This jacket delivers that, and is still beefy enough for last for years and years.

E: All of the above said, I think a jacket made from the same fabric as the black worker pants would be awesome, good stout 100% cotton. Doesn't have to be a denim jacket style, perhaps more like a chore coat or another classic work jacket style.

I had a time time finding denim jackets that fit me, I have very wide shoulders. Most 2xxl denim jackets I found (Levis, Wrangler, etc) would not fit my shoulders, It fit me just about perfectly. The sleeve length is a bit too long, but I just cuff them. The Jacket hangs slightly lower on me than is usual, but still looks great. The material is very lightweight but still feels durable. The elastic stretch is nice. Pockets are great.

Comfortable with just enough stretch. A great outer layer for punk and metal shows. Not too mention tough enough that it survived all kinds of crawling in the dirt and rocks at Finnish Brutality with no heavy wear on the elbows.

Please consider adding size info - that detailed size information really sets your store apart from other ones IMO...

I got to say I didn’t read everything so maybe I’m outdated, but still;
I was wondering the same as Henrik! Tactical verion! Maybe sleeve pockets, back pocket, in-strapping for a whole bunch of gearing and straps holders on the shoulders. Maybe even underarm flap (or gussets for karate chop) to breathe if someone packing a lot. Might even put breathable sides.

Also, a big tactical question is over or under the vest,? And if it is in lieux of, (which would make (imo) more sense) it should be able to hold a goddarn amount of stuff, either with plate pockets (with military style side button)or smart pockets all around.
(just saying) Plate pockets sometime, could have multi use, I don’t have an spot on example but up-dorsal pocket support for riding bikes is something that hold the backpack when you get the good stuff in or save your life when you got a hard dorsal in.(Then maybe a plate for the boys waiting to get shot in the back) Just to say it wouldn’t be far "stretch" to harden the elbows/shoulder/back, those are life savers for bikers, and nothing says biker more than a denim vest. (Just saying)

That and I find that the buttons (in general, as in not only this vest) could be a tad more agressive (thinking branding). The "tactical" ones should ofc have darker button or a flap over so we don’t see them. Ironically a dark noiseless zipper would jawbreak anyone who complained bout the tst pants "button fly" but irony wins wars, and the comments would become my new youtube. Haha.

Personally as I like the brand I’d like to see the logo from afar. Might even put the logo on the back subtly but big enough that people who knows know. Idk.

Sadly yet my rican model still holds and I’m starting to get used to the shapes. So for me to change, it would be for features and style. Not an almost the same, not to criticize, If I didn’t had my rican, I’d order on the spot… although;

Like others mentioned, sizing infos, (dunno if I’m still factual on this one) maybe even pull em from other companies just so we know… example: if you wear a rican levi large, then "x" one is practically the same but… xyz, then it’s less of a struggle. Hypothetically.

Something tells me a denim shirt that is tactical should be from either another planet, or made from another kind of denim. Anyhow, would be gorgeous if varu is on the case! Im sure of it.

As an American, I'm offended.

This is cultural appropriation.

Buy denim jackets made in the USA, or don't buy them at all.

The origins were trousers made of cotton, which came to the USA from the area around the Italian city of Genoa. From the French form of the city name ("Gênes"), the pronunciation "jeans" developed in America. Levi Strauss, who was born in Franconia (Germany) and went to San Francisco as an emigrant in 1847, made robust workwear for gold diggers, the "Gênes" from the fabric "Serge de Nîmes" (fabric from the city of Nîmes), denim jeans for short.

The origin is clearly in Europe when you look at the history ;)

Are you planning a tactical denim jacket, with 10 pockets and strategically placed gussets for karate ninja moves?
