A handy little canvas pack originally made for the Yugoslavian national army, but these might have also seen Serbian use.

Simple as hell - removable shoulder straps, "large" main compartment, and a smaller pocket with snap closure. The main compartment contains a "loot bag", which can be pulled out if you need some extra capacity. This is cut out from some of the packs, if you really must have it, please mention it. The flap is closed with leather straps. Additionally, the pack has belt loops and straps for a rolled rain poncho or a shelter half. By removing the shoulder straps and attaching one of them to the metal loops on both sides of the pack, you have a handy shoulder bag.

Measurements of the main compartment: height 25 cm (adjustable upwards a bit), width 30 and depth 8,5 cm.

In used, but somewhat serviceable condition. The canvas might be a bit frayed here and there, and the metal parts may be a bit rusty.

Ostin tämän ruman ja ikävän pikku repun korvaamaan olkalaukkua pyöräillessä. Olkahihnojen epäkäytännölliset viilekkeet revin lähes välittömästi pois, niistä ei ole iloa, varsinkin repun ollessa aina lähes tyhjä.

Reppuun ei mahdu kovin paljoa tavaraa ja se on hidas avata ja sulkea. Eväät, pikku ostokset, sadetakin tai villapaidan se kuitenkin nielee hyvin sisäänsä. Eeppiselle pussikaljoittelureissulle kannattaa valita joku muu.

Tällä hinnalla se on kuitenkin hyvä lisä reppujen ja laukkujen valikoimaani.

The pack itself is a neat little thing, especially if you get all the special compartments. (Loot bag and gun cleaning kit compartment) As a backpack it's pretty bad, the shoulder straps don't seem to be very adjustable. As a shoulder bag it's very nice, it offers a great deal of space. Would I recommend it to a friend as a backpack? Nope. As a shoulder bag or bicycle pannier? Definitely!
Update : I find out how to adjust it in a way to make the pack actually align along your back. You have to layer the straps by running the adjuster through the pad loops as shown on the pictures. I would give it 5 stars but I can't change my previous rating. Best item I've ever bought on Varusteleka. :D

Made in 1975, the manufacture is stamped in Cyrillic and most of the lettering has faded.
It is very small, maybe a milk carton, or just one day of clothes would fit.
The buckles are rusted, and the leather straps are rotting, but they still work.
Does what it was designed to do.

Bought 1 that I display with Serbian helmet, mess kit, ammo pouch. 2nd bag greased the leather yet to treat with leka wax is used as a haversack for day hikes. Also a good backpack on a motorcycle as it rides high and is clear of top boxes etc.

During the war these were obviously used by all sides - Croatian, Bosnian and Serb. Hell, the Croats even made their own, slightly bigger, versions in Woodland. Anyway, it IS small but you can use it for a weekend in the field or for a short trip where you only need your essentials. Sturdy as hell though and very dependable.
