What makes the Jetboil brilliant is not only that it's easy to use and very compact - although those are both excellent features - but rather the fact that it is way faster and more fuel-efficient than your average gas camping stove.

The Zip is an all-in-one design, combining the burner and cooking vessel in one compact unit. Everything you need is stacked and stored inside the 0.8-liter (27 fl oz.) cooking cup. The system lights by just turning the gas on, igniting it with fire, and within about two minutes, provides two cups of boiling water for cocoa, coffee, instant soup, or a gourmet freeze-dried meal.

The Zip is designed to be one of the safest cooking solutions out there. The cooking cup clips onto the burner, preventing accidental spills.

This is a great system: small, powerful, efficient. I take it hiking with my kids since even if we're visiting a fire pit, I can give them a warm treat (cocoa, oatmeal, etc) while getting a proper fire going.

I love that I can use the (more readily available) Primus etc gas cannisters. The Jetboil ones are much harder to find. Just keep in mind: the Jetboil fuel canisters may nest inside the cook system, but a Primus fuel canister certainly does not, unfortunately.

Also: Some online reviews complain about the lack of a push-button igniter for the system. But in my view, that would just be another possoble point of failure and, honestly, who goes into the woods without a proper ignition source (cig lighter, fire steel, or at the very least a rock that will throw a spark!) in their pocket?
