Luulisin, että tämä on alunperin tarkoitettu pöytäviinin tarjoiluun. Tällaisessa viinin dekantointiin ja tarjoiluun käytettävässä astiassa ei korkkia kuulukkaan olla - juomatta jäävä viini kaadetaan takaisin pulloon. Toimii kuten tämmöiset dekantterit yleensäkin, on sellaiseksi varsin tukeva ja onhan tuo kaiverrus ihan siisti, joskin omassa astiassani oli jonkinlainen lähes koko astian ympäri ulottuva kulumajälki, joka oli hinkannut osan kuviosta sottaisen näköiseksi.
