A German-made tunic used by the Finnish firemen. Most-very-fockin'-likely wartime manufacture with Wehrmacht size markings and everything, along with SA-Int stamps on the other side. A well-preserved specimen!
To the best of our knowledge the Finns ordered black-ish tunics for firemen before/around the war years. Well in this jacket the front buttons are all there, marked "O/Y Suomen Nappitehdas, Teijo", it's a button factory from Teijo. Unfortunately, we couldn't find any clear dates, but there are a number of vague stamps, Wehrmacht size notation, and Finnish army SA-Int property marks, along with Finn size 46 A, which means Small. The measured chest circumference of the garment itself is 96 cm, waist circumference 90 cm, sleeve length from the shoulder seam 57 cm.
In superb condition for its age. Real blemishes are the missing shoulder board buttons, first aid pocket button, one moth nip on the collar, and a few fingertip-sized holes in the lining material, both below the belt hook holes. A very nice example all in all!
We got just a handful of these and will sell a couple of them. This is the first.
