French Hardshell Rain Jacket, CCE, Surplus

Price 49.99 USD excluding sales tax

Barely used modern hardshell rain jackets, these are French army surplus with the CCE camo pattern. These present an excellent value for the money: the price of comparable stuff is measured in hundreds of bucks, not tens. The cut is properly royal and the quality is equally solid!

Barely used modern hardshell rain jackets, these are French army surplus with the CCE camo pattern. These present an excellent value for the money: the price of comparable stuff is measured in hundreds of bucks, not tens. The cut is properly royal and the quality is equally solid!

Just a shell, like a rain garment should be, these have no lining whatsoever and are cut large enough to fit over everything else. These have the essentials and a bit beyond; zipper and snap closure, a roomy stow-away hood, two hem pockets (some jackets do not have these) and two hidden chest pockets, adjustable hem, cuffs, and hood. Armpit zippers for ventilation. These sleeves are Raglan style, so there are no potentially chafing seams. Reinforced elbows.

The fabric is proper waterproof & breathable type, and although we couldn't find Gore-Tex tags, it's essentially the same stuff. The seams are properly taped of course, as these are military-grade items. Wash in 60 degrees Celsius if you have to.

Size info

Sizes first in the French size, then by the user's recommended height and chest circumference. Please note these are cut pretty large and meant to fit over everything else.

Condition

Used, but in good condition. We guess that the French army had these specific sizes more than enough in stock and just let them go. The jacket in the pictures is from 2006, but there are newer jackets also in the piles. Some of them even seem unused!

Huippu tuote. Pitää vettä ja tuulta, muttei ole kuuma tai hiostava. Ehkä paras huppu koskaan.

Aivan helevatun bueno takki!

Tää rotsi on kyllä parhautta. Jos jotain pahaa pitää keksiä, kaulus ahistaa jos huppu on taiteltuna sisälle, muuten 5/5. Koot todella reiluja itse otin koon 96L olen 175cm/115cm is my height/chest and I took size 96L fits a French fleece under it
This jacket is the best I have, brand new nothing really bad to say but the hood in the collar makes it really tight otherwise 5/5

Seriously beautiful piece of gear at an amazing price. Unfortunately, even if I'm 1.80, the theoretically correct size which I got (112L) is huge for me. I wear S/M sizes and my dad (XXL size) tried the jacket on and he comfortably fit in it. Which makes me thing that the dude in the image who's wearing the same size must be huge if he has such a nice fit :) I could put three of me in 112L.

Perfect jacket, brand new!! great quality. I'm sure I'm going to enjoy this for a long time. I got the 120C and its a bit wide but that's OK for a rain jacket.

Huippu sadetakki!

Brand new! Very heavy jacket which is good or bad depending on what you want. This is something that you have hanging at home or in the vehicle and wear during the next tsunami. It's probably not so great if you are hiking or hunting etc, it's just too heavy and clumsy. The neck part is stiff and very high which is visible in the pictures. Your mouth is completely covered which I don't like so much. To sum it up, this jacket should be great for doomsday rain scenarios, but not so great otherwise. I would never carry it with me just in case of rain. I can recommend this for the oil rig in the North Sea or guard duty in the rain, but not for someone moving a lot. Unfortunately 128L was too big for me (193 cm tall and 104 cm chest). I gambled a bit since I thought it would be fine over my normal jacket, but I guess the Varusteleka size info is pretty correct, taking that into account already.
