We got a very small batch of surplus Ranger Tent Stoves used by the Finnish army. They are designed to make sure the soldiers don’t freeze to death during proper winters. Heavy, impractical, and unpleasant, but oh so wonderful. This doesn’t have a chimney so you either need to make it yourself or buy a suitable one, for example, the Savotta roll chimney. Depending on the height of your tent, you might need two of these. It is worth measuring the tent height before ordering. And pay attention to local fire regulations.
We cannot, unfortunately, sell these to the US or Canada because the local legislation there equates these with nuclear weapons or something like that.
The measurements can vary a bit because these have seen heavy use and might have been dented in transportation or kicked around by disgruntled conscripts. This probably isn’t an ideal choice for ultralight hikers that enjoy measuring everything with a micrometer but it isn’t designed to be. We might run out of these very quickly so if you need a tent stove, get it quickly.
Used Finnish army surplus. These are very heavily used so they have some rust, the hinges have been changed, and there are dents and this and that. These have been repaired and modified by army people so the stove you purchase might look a bit different visually from the one in the pictures. But they all work the same way. Extend the legs, support the stove properly, put the burnable stuff in, and you get heat in your tent. These sure aren’t modern luxury stoves but that is why the price is also far from such.
