The Dutch army long sleeve shirt is something we would like to see more as surplus; a well made, lightweight and moisture wicking turtleneck top for cheap, just the thing you want to carry around just in case no matter what the situation is.

A simple no-nonsense package: long hem, long sleeves, non-chafing flat seams and zippered neck. The collar can be worn open, raised up or folded down. Packs very small, won't take much space in your pack. Made of polyester, which means this transfers moisture away from the skin.

Material and care

Made of 100 % polyester knit. Wash at 40 degrees Celsius (104 F).

Size info

Sizes in US style easy system. Just pick by your usual T-shirt size, these do stretch quite a bit. As said, the hem and sleeves run long - our model is 175 cm / 5' 9" short, EU 48-50 wide (US 38-40) and wears Medium. Note the sleeves, which would fit a way taller person too.

Real deal army surplus

Used, but washed and clean. You get a lot of shirt for the price. The availability seems to be rather poor, we try to keep these in stock to the best of our ability.

Paidan kaulus ei ole niin korkea kuin esim. SA poolopaidassa vaan ennemminkin matala ns. turtleneck joten ei mielestäni toimi kaksinkerroin käännettynä. Vetoketjun sisäpuolinen suojakaistale ei aina oikein asetu paikoilleen kun vetoketjun vetää kiinni. Kangas on herkkä tarttumaan velcro-tarroihin ja yksittäiset lankakuidut tuntuvat karkailevan (käytettyjä paitoja). Nukkaantumista en omassa yksilössäni havainnut. Tiputin muutaman pisaran vettä kankaan sisäpintaan ja se tuntuu imaisevan nesteen hetkessä eli kosteus siirtynee iholta hyvin. Itselläni rinnanympärysmitta 98cm ja koko M oli sopivan kokoinen.

Comfy! The long hem is perfect for tucking into your pants for extra warmth, and the long sleeves are great for length in general. It's warm, good as a base layer (even better with another tee underneath), a little fuzzy and itchy before the first few washes, but it goes away in time. As detailed, they do stretch out in time (I got 2 in medium, they looked tiny before I put them on). Also, they definitely wick moisture away from your precious, supple skin when you're busy busting your ass hauling Christmas trees around for customers. Get one, or three while you're at it!

Do not wear these under flannel as the little fabric balls will start catching on the sleeves of the turtleneck. Quite good for a second layer... a little uncomfortable for a base layer. As for sizes, I'm 116cm in the chest, and a Medium fits me well.

Ill start off by saying this is a nice shirt and very cheap. However I do have a gripe with the sizing description. I am about 163 cm tall with about a 91 cm chest (5'4" tall, 36" chest) and I ordered my american sizing which would be Small. This shirt fit like a next to skin layer and not enough room for a t-shirt underneath, rather than being too long according to the description. The sleeves were about perfect length but I personally felt that the hem was too short although that probably because the shirt fit tight and tight shirts tend to ride up.
Shirt is obviously used such as some pilling but no real damages. Nice, soft, stretchy and lightweight. Zippers are good and the shirt has the little pocket thing at the top so that it tucks under it and prevents a cold zipper from touching your neck. The cut of the shirt conforms to the body very well like an athletic cut. The only thing I would be concerned would be the durability of the shirt because it's thin, but it's surplus so that probably says something.

Overall still a good shirt and I like it. Just that the fit according to the description doesn't seem very accurate. If I were to order again I would get the size small to wear next to skin, and medium if I were to wear a shirt underneath it or want a more roomier fit.

Very lightweight and form-fitting. In contrast to German clothing, the sleeves are plenty long. Not super warm, but still very nice. I occasionally get compliments while wearing it.

Sizing guide was spot on, arms and hem are slightly longer being of Dutch design (tall people), not a problem as both cover wrists and lower waist generously for cold weather. slight pilling around the neck and a broken zipper can be expected but nothing one can't fix/have fixed cheaply. Works fantastically well when worn over a merino wool next-to-skin layer, with a good fleece on top. I would also like to add that these are really comfortable.

Got a medium. In excellent condition and also very comfortable. I plan to do a lot of field work in the Big Bend region of Texas. While its about as far south as you can get in the US, the weather can still turn pretty nasty at certain times of the year. This pullover will be perfect to keep in my pack in case of a cold front. It will also be great to have for everyday wear.
