Dutch self-inflatable mattress, surplus
A good alternative for a regular sleeping mat. This self-inflatable Dutch army sleeping mattress rolls to a tighter package than most traditional foam mats and insulates better. This may come with a green or DPM camouflaged packsack. So, ask yourself, do you feel lucky?

The mattress is self-inflating, but the process can be sped up by blowing air into the valve. You should do this for the first times of use.
Measurements packed are about 17 x 52 cm (6,5 x 20,5"), and 180 x 52 cm (71 x 20,5") when laid out. If you think it's too short, put your pillow over the edge of the mat and you're set.
About R-ratings: we don't know. This is at least a good three-season pad, maybe four.
Good kit for a good price
In used condition, but totally airtight and good to go. When new these would cost close to 100 EUR, as the materials are military-grade and manufacturers European. Just get one, you'll be happy.

Note: If you already have the mattress, but could not get it to self-inflate, don't give up on it just yet. There may be a way to "revive" yours the same way the seller helped me get mine working again. The method I used is described at the end of this review.
Pros:
-Material is nice and strong.
-Length is perfect for me, though some may find it would be better if it was longer
-The width is 60cm, which is sufficient for my needs.
-The weight is fine, considering the quality it offers in return.
-Laying on the mattress fully inflated it is soft enough.
-In its deflated state, there is still the thin foam mat, so even a puncture would not destroy its usability fully.
-The foam in the mattress works as a thermo shield to shield the user from the cold, wet ground.
-Rolled up as tightly as I could get it, the diameter of the roll is 14cm.
Cons:
-It came used and dirty on one side, but clean on the other. Needless to say mine has seen quite some use, but it is fully functional nonetheless.
-A bit taller than initially desired (60 cm instead of 55 cm), so it will not fit just any backpack. Not easily packable smaller nor more compact than it comes in the storage pouch.
-Getting it in to my green storage pouch (which came with the mattress), is quite a chore. The pouches inner material is lightly rubberized and so the mattress does not slide in so easily. This is made easier if the roll is as tight as possible, but getting it down to 14 cm is a bit of chore too and may even require rolling it up twice to really get all the air out.
-I was so disappointed to find it would not inflate at all at first. It had apparently been stored in its pouch for too long.
If your self-inflatable mattress does not inflate at all, like mine when I first got it, then try the following:
1. Twist the valve open fully.
2. Inflate it manually by blowing air into it the old fashioned way (don't an electric pump). Take care not to let the blown in air escape through the valve. It's a bit of a chore at first, but hang in there.
3. Once desired thickness is reached, twist the valve shut.
4. Leave it inflated for 1-2 days or more (ex. out of sight behind a sofa if you are low on storage space). I left mine almost 4 days just in case, in order to ensure maximum chance of success.
5. After a few days of inflation, open the valve fully and gradually roll it back up (Note: slower rolling allows more air to escape with each rolling motion).
6. Once fully rolled up, unroll it again and leave it be a few minutes. You should hear it inflating itself gradually up to a certain thickness. The difference between deflated and inflated should also be fully visible and felt. Note: Any thicker requires the user to blow additional air into the mattress as with all other such products.
Storage: When not in use it can be stored inflated with the valve open (though personally I still do put the cap on to keep dust from getting in). If thicker than own sef-inflation, it will first deflate itself back down to that point and then stay inflated at its own maximum inflation thickness. If there is a lack of storage space, looser rolling and a strap or two have been known to work as storage method too (valve is left open, same as when fully self-inflated). After having been stored rolled up, it may need a few breaths to re-initialize the self-inflation.

Muiden arvostelujen perusteella on kuitenkin ilmeisesti mahdollista löytää itselleen ihan toimivakin alusta, mutta ainakin omien kokemuksien perusteella homma menee arpapeliksi.
