Amsteel is a strong and very lightweight cord made from Dyneema fibers, the same stuff that bulletproof vests are made of. This stuff is fantastic for any use where you want lightweight and extreme strength, perfect for hammock ropes and other camping gear! This is the same cord DD Hammocks use to make their Whoopie Slings, tried and tested stuff.

Weight per 100 m: 450 g

Sold by the metre, 1 pcs = 1 metre. If you order 3 pcs, for example, you get one piece that's 3 metres long. We cut these to length for you.

Made by DD Hammocks

Founded in 2005, the British DD Hammocks supplies proper quality hammocks, tarps, and other related stuff. Along with the common joe, campers, hikers, etc., a large customer base is in the British military. If it's good enough for war zones, it should do well in civilian life too.

Itse hankin tätä tarpin harjanaruksi – tämä kun on kestävämpää ja kevyempää kuin Paracord. Muutamia huomioita: Naru on huomattavasti liukkaampaa kuin Paracord, joten solmut kannattaa valita ja tehdä kunnolla. Samasta syystä Prusik-lenkit tähän naruun kannattaa tehdä reilusti ohuemmasta narusta, esim. Microcordista. Harjanarua kannattaa testailla asentamisen jälkeen huolellisemmin kuin Paracordin kanssa, itselläni tapahtui pari yllättävää löystymistä kovemmassa tuulessa joko puusta luistaen tai huonosti solmitusta solmusta.

Tuotteena kuitenkin erinomainen ja täyttää odotukset.

Tosi kestävää vetolujuudessa, mutta on rispaantunut riippumattokäytössä, missä paracord olisi taas kestänyt. Uskon, että paras ratkaisu on pitää dyneema jonkun suojaavan kuoren sisällä, koska sen heikkous on juuri leikkaava ja mekaaninen voima. Ja tässä tapauksessa oli dyneema ihan vain solmittuna karabiiniin, joten mitään väärinkäyttöä siihen ei ole kohdistunut.

Narussa / materiaalissa ei ole mitään vikaa, mutta kantsii miettiä se käyttökohde ja tarkkailla, miten se toimii siinä. Mutta yhdistettynä cordurasukkaan tämä tavarahan on aivan tykkiä.
