Product description

For those with large feet, we have good news! These unissued full leather & solid rubber-soled combat boots are a dying breed in the days of cushioned throw-away fluffiness.

Very simple and robust construction: a sewn & glued on the rubber sole, full leather upper, and traditional lacing. Not much lining, as your socks will do that. The overall experience isn't as comfy as with cushion soled shoes, but in turn, these will last a looong time, and even then can probably be repaired to a degree.

Size system

First the Mondopoint size (foot length in millimeters), then EU/French size. Comparable US size about 12½.

We do recommend insoles to go with these (Jalas FX2 is nice, pick the same size as the boots) as there are none inside out of the box.

Condition

In totally unworn shape. Probably made in the '90s or something, just stored away till now. These are the kind of boots that go against all the marketing dogma, as they take ages to wear out. These came to us from a local business called Globe Hope, and there's a little stamp on the side of the shaft's mouth to remind us of this. Fortunately, it's quite unnoticeable!

I have a pair of Danish combat boots, not bought here but the same model (M58). Like the Norwegian M77, they're made from thick leather and hard rubber, and not much else. Unlike the M77, the sole is stitched on and can be replaced by any cobbler. With reasonable application of leather grease and polish, these will last for a long-ass time. Not the most comfortable of boots to put it mildly, but built like a tank and very classic looks. A good insole and double socks makes them acceptable, but they'll still beat up your feet. I pity the poor conscripts who had to do 30+ km marches in these.
