A handy, lap-sized wooden crate. These have housed assault rifle ammunition in their former life, and we think it's pretty awesome the Czech armed forces have actually put these into circulation instead of destroying them with fire.
The milsurp wooden box business is a tricky trade, as the usefulness of the features of each box varies a lot. However, once in a blue moon a near-perfect candidate steps forward; these have an actual metal latch thing on the front, real hinges in the back, and even folding metal handles to keep the storage space at a minimum. It's always worthwhile to remember that these are not fancy decorative boxes but made for real military use, so you can jump on them and such.
Outside measurements 37 x 20 x 33 cm, inside dimensions 31,5 x 15 x 28 cm. Inside you can fit 20 cans of refreshing beverages, see the photos!
Real deal Czech surplus, all probably made during the Cold War. These have been thrown around warehouses and trucks and then stuffed away, so they might be worn and dirty, but entirely intact. The quality level is pretty, well, level, so we saw no need to take a photo showing the piles of boxes.
