Features

Berghaus MMPS Spartan II 60 FA is part of the Berghaus MMPS series (Multi Mission Pack System). The MMPS was developed to provide a range of packs that integrate and share modular components. The different packs in the system give you the flexibility to carry any load from 10 liters to 120 liters of kit, depending on the type of mission. FA in the name of this one refers to Front Access.

More detailed info

  • External measurements c. 75 x 37 x 25 cm (29.5" x 14.6" x 9.8")
  • Capacity: Roughly 60 liters (3,661 cu in.)
  • Weight c. 3.175 kg (7.0 lbs)
  • The upper main compartment is covered by a large flap. The straps of the flap are looong, so you can overpack lots of stuff between the flap and the pack. In this FA version, the main compartment can also be opened from the front, which enables you to access the lowermost gear inside very easily. On the outside, there is webbing where you can attach more stuff.
  • Hidden mesh pocket in the front access panel to store a helmet or jacket, etc. on the outside.
  • Inside, there is a hydration bladder pouch plus two straps for fastening gear.
  • An internal divider between the upper and lower compartments, which can be opened or closed with a drawcord.
  • Lower main compartment, accessed by a zipper and secured by two compression straps.
  • Four loops on the inside rear panel to attach an MMPS radio pad, allowing the radio to be stored nicely against the inside of the backpack. Antenna, cables, etc. can be fed through openings at the top of the backpack body.

  • A small zippered pouch inside and a larger one outside the main flap, capacity c. 5 liters (305 cu in.). Furthermore, there is webbing on the outside where you can attach more gear plus a hook & loop slot for patches.
  • No side pouches, but the pack is equipped with zippers for attaching the pouches. They can be purchased separately from Berghaus.
  • The pack has two straps per side where you can attach suitable gear.
  • Padded, adjustable shoulder straps and a chest strap with a quick-release buckle.
  • Stiff, well-padded waist belt with a sturdy quick-release Bergbuckle.

Size info

We have these in three sizes. The sizes don’t refer to the carrying capacity of the pack but the height of the user. In the chart below, you will see the recommended back length and height of the user for each size. This code is more what you'd call "guidelines" than actual rules, as people have different body proportions and personal preferences.

Made by Berghaus

Berghaus is a well-known British outdoor clothing and equipment brand that started its conquest of the military world during the Falklands War when British troops needed a kit that wouldn’t suck. Since then, Berghaus has been kitting out the British military and many other European armies with their excellent quality rucksacks.

Nowadays, Berghaus makes its products somewhere in the Far East like many other big companies. However, they have very strict quality control, ensuring that their products are still fit for war.
