No cheapo market crap here - these are real deal unnissued Belgian army wet weather jackets. Probably not Gore-Tex, but the membrane works just as well.
An excellent rain & foul weather jacket in all its simplicity: being unlined, this works alone or coupled with warm layers as a wind- and waterproof top layer. Having a membrane means at least some form of breathability compared to standard rubber or PVC stuff, and being a military garment, these are made for rough use.
- Roomy cut and a generously sized hood.
- Zipper and snap closure.
- Adjustment tabs on the cuffs, drawcords at the hem & hood.
- Two large, zippered hem pockets.
- Lowered shoulder seams. This makes the sleeves look shorter than they really are.
Care
These can be machine washed in 40 degrees Celsius if necessary. Hang dry. Once in a while the top fabric should be treated with water repellent spray if you wish to keep it more breathable.
Size info
Sizes in simple S, M, L form, in the brackets you can see the comparable US Army size, which seem to correspond rather well. See the US Army size chart here. In Belgish, X-Large is "EL" and X-Large Long is "ELL". The sizes grow both lengthwise and widthwise when going up the size table. If you are very tall, pick a size larger than you normally would wear.
Unissued army gear
Unissued, just stored for a while.

Lots of room to wear something underneath and sturdy fabric. Only the buttons can come off in heavy use. Funny how it’s being sold while I still have these issued.

It looks pretty well made though and it's just a basic shell, so not too heavy.

Fit for a giant!
I can put a super puffy Michelin man jacket, the comical level of puffy and I still have too much room between the layers. Im almost hesitant to get a medium as it will probably be too big.

Nämä mitat auttoivat minua valitsemaan oikean takin itselleni:
M (M) = pit to pit = 28”
L (L) = pit to pit= 30”
XL (EL) = pit to pit = 32”
