A very compact but pretty comprehensive survival kit. Fits in your pocket and contains all the essentials that such kits should have. Despite the name, you don’t have to survive in the mountains alone. You can use this kit in other surroundings as well.

Survival kits are are familiar to folks who have participated in survival courses. Despite what some doomsday preppers tell you, they don’t contain hundreds of cans of spam in a nuclear bunker full of assault rifles. Instead, they are easy-to-carry kits containing the bare essentials you need for surviving in various conditions. Everything should fit in a small tin that you can keep in your car, pocket, or pack.

Below you can see what’s included in this one. You can further customize it to suit your needs. Note that this is the last straw. When possible, you should also carry bigger tools and such. For example, the tiny knife is no match for a proper big knife, such as the Finnish Puukko but it is better than nothing.
