A compact and lightweight folding multi-fuel cooker made from steel. Designed to be used with the FireDragon solid fuel but works perfectly with other solid fuels and gels. Fits in your pocket, so perfect for space-conscious hikers, hunters, and bushcrafters.

Features

This cooker has been heavily influenced by the German Esbit-kocher invented in the 30s and used by the German army. BCB developed this one to optimize the performance of their solid FireDragon fuel. British Army has been using these cookers, and both the fuel and cooker are NATO approved.

When you open the lids, they form the legs on top of which you put the vessel you want to heat. You can fold the lids to different positions depending on the size of the vessel and desired heat. When closed, the measurements are 113 x 72 x 25 mm (4.5” x 2.8” x 1”). The weight is 113 g without the fuel. The cooker comes with a detachable windshield.

You can store some fuel tablets inside the stove to save space. You can e.g. fit 3 x FireDragon solid fuel blocks within the cooker. Note! Fuel is not included, so you need to purchase that separately.

Ihan ok. Kokoontaitettuna hiukan kookkaampi kuin Esbit mutta tuo "tuulensuojalevy" taas parantaa käytettävyyttä.
Pari vinkkiä käyttöön:
-Muovikupin, johon polttoaineklöntti on pakattu, voi polttaa myös. Tällöin lieska palaa hillitymmin ja se muovinen rasia saadaan myös hyödynnettynä lämmöksi
-Kokonaisen polttoaineklöntin polttaminen kerralla tuottaa yleensä melko lyhyen aikaa palavan tarpeettoman ison roihun jossa paljon lämpöä menee harakoille (tätä myös kritisoitu paljon youtuben arvosteluissa). Jos haluaa samalla polttoainemäärällä kokkailla pitempään, laittaa sen klöntin puoliksi ja lisää toisen puoliskon vasta kun ensimmäinen alkaa hiipua -> much win.
-Polttoaineesta (ja muovikupista?) polttimen pohjalle jäävä karsta lähtee melko helposti esim. veitsellä tai ruuvimeisselillä tms rapsuttelemalla isoina paloina irti

After trying a old and ratty set of Esbit stoves, I finally settled on this for a small field stove. No big gas can, and fits most of your mess kits with little issue as far as balancing goes.
Theres enough space to store your windshield and the fuel tabs. Recommend having the tabs, or having a tube of alcohol fuel, but this stove is sturdy enough to do solid and more contemporary forms of fuel with little issue.

Cheap, but sturdy and reliable.

I bought this years ago and use it as a backup. The weight with three Firedragon fuel gel packs is around 220 grams. The energy content is pretty low from gel so if you are used to gas canisters be prepared to wait for the water to start boiling. The construction is very robust. There is a small wind screen that you attach to the side and that stops the kitchen from collapsing, even with a heavy load.

It is of course *very* similar to the old German Esbit, but the build quality is really good and the gel has the enormous benefit of not smelling rotten eggs... Any fuel can be used but it is just so neat placing three gel packs in it. The edges are kind of sharp so I keep it in an old sunglasses pouch to save the rucksack.

I believe the stove is used by the British army and/or royal marines.

I give it 3,5 stars. It does what it is intended for, but the gel burning is slow, the gel packs are expensive, the setup is wind sensitive, and there will be residue on your cook ware. Hence it is used only as a backup.

I wanted to try this updated stove as I was not happy with the old Esbit tabs, these seem to burn hotter and will boil your water. Great to use in places where a larger cooking fire would give away your position. It is a tad larger than an Esbit stove so I am looking for a suitable pouch for it.
I can fit three fuel tablets inside but this seems to be an after thought, so you have to tilt them towards the outside in order for them to stay in. Other companies' tabs can be used in this stove but then you will be back to having the Esbit boil water problem. For North America, Walmart sells the fuel tabs so I'll be keeping an eye out for end of season clear outs. For European customers who can get fuel tabs in the mail, buy from Varusteleka and keep this great company going!

Toimii kuin junan vessa. Parhaiten tämä toimii noiden Firedragon geelien kanssa, mutta samaten perus esbit kikkareet sun muut toimivat tässä. Alue, jossa ainetta voi olla, on pienempi kuin esim. BW:n omassa mallissa, mutta tässä tapauksessa pienempi alue auttaa ilmanotossa. Tuo seinäkappale on tosi hyvä tuulessa ja silloin kun lämmitettävä kappale on raskaampi, antaa hyvin tukea jaloille. Esbit-keittimien korvikkeena tämä menee loistavasti.

Toisin kuin toinen arvostelija, en itse suosittele muovikupin polttamista jos käytät Firedragonin geelipohjaisia polttoaineita. Muovinpoltto kun ei koskaan ole hyväksi, ja se luo paljon enemmän krääsää jonka irrottaminen on vaikeampaa kuin ilman sitä. Tosin ero on hyvinkin pieni.

Olen ostanut keittimen muualta, ja hyvä keitin vaikka nimi onkin paska. Käyttäkää ihmiset tässä sinol geeliä polttoaineena, maksaa esim Motonetissä 6€ / 1L ja siitä riittää pidemmäksikin aikaa polteltavaa. Pieni liraus riittää, kun keität tee- tai kahvivedet. Vajaa pesällinen geeliä riittää jo ruoantekoon. Ehdottomasti parempi vaihtoehto kun ne kalliit ja surkeat firedragon-tabletit. Ei savuta geelikään, ja syttyy kätevästi vaikka tuluksilla, ilman että leimahtaa vaarallisesti.
