Lightweight jungle boots from Austria. Designed for operations in a hot climate where full leather boots are too sweaty and uncomfortable. These are perfect for summer use in urban jungles, too in case you just need to have black army boots. Nicely treated high-quality milsurp.
Features
These boots are made for jungles and other hot n’ clammy places. Some of the leather has been replaced with Cordura, which breathes better, yet is still very durable and wear-resistant. There is an extra reinforcement piece on the toes. Leather parts have been treated to be water-resistant. However, we cannot give any absolute guarantees that they still are because it is impossible to check for all the boots. The treatment can be renewed if necessary.
Inside the boot, there is a breathable 3D mesh lining. The soles are injection-molded, and lacing is like the 80s metal should be, speed!
Choosing the right size
Manufactured in the EU size system but we have also included the corresponding US/UK size. The last isn’t super wide but not overly narrow either.
Condition
Used but not abused Austrian military surplus. Perfectly serviceable and even the soles have quite a nice tread pattern remaining. One minus these do have though. There are deliberate white chalk marks on the toe or heel part of the boot. However, they are easy to remove by brushing.
Note that army surplus boots don’t usually come with insoles and even if they do, they are usually crappy. Get a pair of good insoles, e.g. from us and you will be happier.
Austrian surplus
Functional, neutral, clean. That's what the Austrian Bundesheer gear is made of. Our Austrian surplus revolves mostly around the Anzug 75 and Anzug 03 clothing systems, but who knows, maybe the "Tarnanzug Neu" will make it's appearance if the Austrians decide to clear the stocks in the future. Get your OD gear while the stocks last.
After the Second World War the Austrian soldier looked like a weird mixture of Allies and Germans; the M1 style helmet and general profile really tried to bring that NATO vibe up, but a lot of the gear and even the dotted camouflage pattern looked surprisingly much like WW2 German issue. In the 70s they took a major leap towards NATO with the introduction of the all-green Anzug 75 clothing and equipment system closely inspired by the American equivalents, finally letting go of the "old stuff". The Anzug 03 brought the game up to date with some changes in effort to modernize the whole thing. Now the Bundesheer is again moving over to camouflage.

However, i can't comment on the durability yet, so I will stick to the things I can comment on.
I've worn these boots on two smaller hikes (about 60km) so far and I'm quite pleased with them.
The footbed is surprisingly comfy, the sole is grippy and the overall weight is pretty low for a full size combat boot.
I did treat them with leather oil and water repellent on the non leather parts and even though I went through light rain, wet grass and smaller puddles, I didn't get wet feet.
In regards to the comment about value, I think, these are fine. I bought a couple of mid priced hiking boots over the years, all of which were done after 2 years at the most. These boots here are a lot cheaper than the ones I bought earlier so even if they last as short as the above mentioned ones, I'd still consider them a good deal.
I'm gonna update this review in case of some disaster happening but so far, I really like these boots.
I suggest to go a little larger then your normal sizing. I usually wear 45-46 and went for 47 on these and they fit very well with enough room for a thick pair of socks.

Suosittelen!

eikä oo liian painavat vaikka vuosikymmen menty lenkkareilla
pitää lumella kohtuu hyvin, varsinkin kovemmilla pakkaseilla, eli yli -10,
kostea pakkaantunut lumi ei tee näistä ihan luistimia mutta vähän pitää olla tarkkana, ei siis ihan nasta kengät mutta aika liki

They are given to conscripts after their service since they won't last longer than 6 months anyways.
Hot in the summer and cold in the winter and ugly as hell. Get the leather ones.
