This attaches to a handguard with M-Lok slots on the underside. Back in the day when foregrips first appeared, people would simply grip the foregrip itself – at least in the movies. Nowadays, with most foregrip techniques, shooters use a C-clamp hold on the entire handguard, gripping it in front of the foregrip, which acts more as a hand stop. Of course, you can use the foregrip however you like or not get one altogether.
