When should I replace my P2-02 filter?
Useful life of any filter depends heavily on environmental and usage conditions. For example, filters used in less contaminated environments may offer longer service life than those used in heavily contaminated environments. So – if you use your respirator in very dusty places, you will have to replace the filter more often.
Excessive breathing resistance when inhaling indicates that the cartridge has served its useful life. Leave the contaminated area and replace the filter cartridge. Cartridges should also be replaced when physically damaged or visibly soiled.
How does the P2-02 filter (for TR2) perform?
The P2-02 filter holds a P2 classification in accordance with EN143:2021.
EN143:2021 has three classifications, which describe the minimum filtration efficiencies required against both solid and oil-based particulates (tested via NaCl salt and paraffin oil challenges, respectively):
- P1 is >80%
- P2 is >94%
- P3 is >99.95%
The P2-02 performs well above the 94% threshold; it tests at least 99% filtration efficiency against solid particulates. The P2-02 also demonstrates >97% efficiency for oil-based particulates.
