Velocity Systems SCARAB LT Plate Carrier

This is a modular and feature-rich combat armor solution for all real world operators in real world operations, and it comes in different camo patterns and sizes.

This configuration includes the plate carrier with the front flap and the SCARAB cummerbund with inside and outside PALS webbing. Available in MultiCam and Finnish M05 woodland camo pattern – the M05 version is truly a limited edition item!

Features

It is a challenge to describe all the features and possibilities of the SCARAB LT, as it is highly versatile and modular. But let us start somewhere, and tell a bit of this particular configuration with the actual PC, the front flap, and the SCARAB cummerbund.

SCARAB LT plate carrier

The SCARAB LT plate carrier features narrow ULTRAcomp shoulder straps with a patented D-ring swivel connection. This mechanism allows for the plate carrier to sit correctly and comfortably on any user, regardless of neck thickness or shoulder broadness. The shoulder straps are adjustable for length and have a padded sleeve that can also be used for cable and hydration tube routing.

The plate bags have inner height adjustment for plates with Velcro straps. The material of the plate bags against the body is soft and breathable mesh.

Front flap

The front flap attaches inside the kangaroo pouch with Velcro. The front flap has Velcro hook panel on the backside – this will cover the cummerbund ends. The front flap has a 3 x 6 PALS webbing on the exterior with loop Velcro. The front flap is detachable.

SCARAB Cummerbund

The SCARAB LT cummerbund is a lightweight and breathable cummerbund with inside and outside PALS webbing. There is breathable mesh fabric between the PALS webbing rows. The cummerbund attaches to the front of the plate carrier by Velcro, and its length is adjusted with One-Wrap fingers running through the openings in the rear plate bag. Each finger can be adjusted separately to optimize the fit for all body types and gear setups. The One-Wraps are joined with the cummerbund by elastic loops which give additional comfort and mobility.

Materials

All hook & loop and One-Wraps are genuine Velcro. The M05 woodland gear is made of 500D Foxdura from Foxa, a Cordura-like fabric. The webbing is 25 mm / 1" M05 strap, also from Foxa – these are totally NIR compliant. The green padded shoulder sleeves appear a little lighter under NVG than with the naked eye.

Size info

We have the SCARAB LT plate carrier in sizes Medium and Large. These take the corresponding ESAPI size plates. However, as per our tests, we found that you can fit a medium-sized SCARAB LT plate bag with e.g. a large-sized Hesco 3810 plate with little effort. The best fit is of course with the corresponding sizes. The manufacturer says this plate carrier will hold hard armor plates up to 25 mm / one inch thick. Different sized plate carriers also have different sized cummerbunds. The medium-sized has 7 PALS columns, and the large has 8 columns. There are also smaller cummerbunds available.

Note: Choose your plate carrier accessories also by size, if they have different sizes. These accessories include e.g. back panels. Medium for medium, large for large, and so on.
