A very compact and waterproof fire-starting kit for hiking, hunting, prepping, and tactical use. Contains waterproof matches, Sweetfire fire starters, and replaceable strikers in a waterproof case that fits in your pocket or your pack’s pocket.
Included in the box
- 12 x waterproof Hurricane Matches
- 3 x Sweetfire Biofuel Tinder Tabs
- 3 x Replaceable Strikers
- Reusable, waterproof case
The Hurricane Matches work in rain and wind and they have a burn time of up to 12 seconds each. The Sweetfire Fire Starters are made from renewable biofuel, and each burns for up to 7 minutes. The kit comes in a reusable, waterproof plastic case. Weight: 55 g (1.9 oz). The measurements: 80 x 35 mm (3.15” x 1.4”).
Use
Lighting the matches is easier when the striker rests on a firm surface and you aren’t hammered. The matches are waterproof but if the striker gets soaking wet, it works as well as a limp dick on the honeymoon. Strike away from the body and bystanders in a downwards position. Sparks can fly off the igniting head, and you don’t want to set your friend’s hair on fire.
Don’t store the matches directly against the striking surface or they might go off prematurely. Carefully monitor lit matches until completely burned. After using the match, run it in water to be certain that it will not light anything else on fire.
