Compared to current issue stuff armies field these days, this Swiss Army woolly pully has a relaxed style. Round neck, half-zipper, loose fit, and lowered shoulder seams to eliminate chafing with a heavy load on the back. The knit on this one is very thick, making the pullover extremely warm. The zipper is incredibly high quality as you would expect, and can be used to regulate the temperature a bit.
Made of 70/30% wool/polyamide mix. Wash at 30°C (86°F), or just air out - most odors disappear that easily if they even manage to form. Polyamide is a good choice, as it won't stink as easily as polyester. Use of wool care products recommended!
Size info
Sizes in the euro system. These are loose-fitting, do not upsize! Our model in the pictures is about Euro size 50 and is wearing a size 48 sweater.
Swiss army surplus
In used, but overall nice shape. Likely pre-washed. These are made in Switzerland.

The only negative thing is its heavyness and for ugly weather you need to wear some kind of neck tube/scarf to keep the cold away from your neck because it is a bit short trimmed around there. (that's why not fully 5 stars)
Regarding size: I own a 52 and it fits well and could still be streched more if more clothing underneath. I normaly wear M or L, e.g. for the Särmä Classic Henley Shirt I ordered Medium Regular.
Back then (when we were young) it was all we got issued as warm layer for winter mountain warfare. So you just did not want to leave behind that heavy and a bit itchy monster. It never failed me and I still own mine!
Fleece was not yet introduced to the armed forces and it took some decades until the powers that be (in the warm offices) finally got an appreciation for fleece to indroduce to their troops in the cold, but as some say, there is no bad weather, only inappropriate clothing ;^)
