Use

Surefire X300 is very operator friendly. It is equally easy to use with either right or left hand, with or without gloves. You get light when you press and hold the tailcap toggle switch, and the light goes off when you release the switch. The momentary switch is an essential part of operating in darkness or low-light conditions when you don’t want to reveal your location with a constant light source. Light on, identify the target, shoot, light off, change your position!

If you need a continuous light, e.g. at a shooting range, simply rotate the tailcap toggle switch up or down and rotate it in the opposite direction to turn the light off.

When using a handgun, you operate the switch with the thumb of your support hand. However, you can also do it with the trigger finger in case you are only using one hand.

Also usable with long guns

Even though SureFire X300U-A is primarily a handgun light, it is also perfectly suited for long guns. When you mount it directly on top of the gun, you can shoot from both sides. Furthermore, the light is always in line with the barrel and the sight. When mounted on the side of the gun, the light can still be blocked by the cover even though the barrel is already pointed at the target.
