Enough light for all distances

If you have a rifle that you want to use for short, medium, and longer-range shooting in low-light conditions, M600 Scout Light is a perfect choice for you. 1,000 lumens and more than a 200 m beam enable you to illuminate and identify targets from afar.

More isn’t always more in weapon lights. Gazillion lumens and a 1,000-meter beam sound splendid but a weapon light like that would be catastrophic. It would blind you completely in all other environments except completely open land because the light would be reflected back to you from buildings and other similar structures. Too much light will also easily pinpoint your location to everybody else.

In SureFire M600 Scout, the lighting power and the shape and reach of the beam have been optimized for weapon light use. This makes it pretty much a perfect multi-purpose rifle light. The weaponlight can be mounted on any firearm that has a Picatinny rail via an integral thumbscrew clamp.

Use

SureFire M600 Scout Light is very operator friendly. It is equally easy to use with either right or left hand, with or without gloves. You get light when you press and hold the tailcap switch, and the light goes off when you release the switch. The momentary switch is an essential part of operating in darkness or low-light conditions when you don’t want to reveal your location with a constant light source. Light on, identify the target, shoot, light off, change your position!

If you need a continuous light, e.g. at a shooting range, simply press the switch as far as it goes. Press it again to turn the light off.

Mount the weaponlight right

Try to position the light on your firearm to allow using it without changing your grip and to shoot from the other shoulder. (Remember, moving the stock from one shoulder to the other doesn't necessarily require switching your firing and support hands!) Mind blocking the beam for shooting over or around an obstacle. For example, 11 o’clock and 1 o’clock are good options.

These models come with an M75 claw mount for Picatinny rails. Make the nut finger-tight and further tighten 1/4 turns with a rock or something. (Note for any Marines out there: it's one quarter of a turn, not one or four turns.)

Other mounts are made by SureFire and other manufacturers. The Scout light can be bolted onto pretty much anything with two UNC screws with a 8-32 thread. That's slightly bigger than the metric M4 thread. (Metric fasteners are not compatible, they are only mentioned to illustrate the size. Another note for any Marine who might be reading... On another thought, never mind.)

Alternative mounts and screws are not included.

Always carry a flashlight as well

Remember that when you point your weapon light at something, you also point your gun there. The weapon light is an integral part of your firearm usage but it won’t replace your flashlight. A responsible soldier always carries both a weapon light on the gun and a flashlight in a pocket or pack.
