Scho-Ka-Kola, 100 g tin can, dark, RED

This stuff in identically-shaped tins has kept the Germans awake since the 30's. Scho-Ka-Kola is chocolate with lots of caffeine, essentially a mild combat drug!
Dark, bitter and strong chocolate. During WW2, Scho-Ka-Kola was a part of the aviator iron ration, and was widely issued alongside normal food distribution to the army. One can find mentions in contemporary soldiers' diaries of how they would despair at being issued Scho-Ka-Kola, since it invariably meant impending trouble. If you are expecting some kind of easter egg milk chocolate, this is not for you!
Made in Germany.
Some numbers and facts
Bittersweet chocolate (cocoa 57,3 % min.), with coffee and cola-nut powder. Ingredients: cocoa mass, sugar, cocoa butter, coffee (2,6 %), whole milk powder, cola-nut powder (1,6 %), emulsifiers sunflower lecithin + E 476, flavour. May contain traces of hazelnuts, almonds and gluten.

- noista rasioista saa mm. sopivia purkkeja kenkien hoitoon sulattamalla esim. dremelin kuuma-ilmasuuttimella valjasrasvaa
- näin niihin tulee jäähdyttyä ihan ammattimainen kiiltävä pinta (älä polta käsiäsi sitä ennen!)
- annoin yhden rasvapurkin joululahjaksi, joten piti tilata näitä lisää syöntiin & askarteluun...

So I had a couple of pieces at 20:00, the taste is simply wonderful. However. It is now 0500 and I'm lying in bed wide awake.
This isn't chocolate, this is rocket fuel in a tin!
Highly recommend to those who fall asleep easily. You wont sleep for a week.

So according to the label 8 pieces = 1 cup strong coffee. Sounds like you are getting shafted but not when you look at caffeine half life int he body etc. Plan you consumption right and you are always just below peak caffination. Can I get a Hell Yeah!?! And it come on slow becsue it's bound up in a solid that you body has to make into a liquid, a smooth fade in with a manageable peak means very little of that too much coffee-dehydrated tweaked out feeling.
Now for the chocolate, I've only had the dark and I personally find it very tasty, a nice mellow espresso mocha tone and a good dark chocolate bite that's not Bakers Chocolate bitter, high 90's% cacao bars I'm looking right at you here, they aren't trying to fool you into accepting a lack of sugar masquerading as high cacao content.
I would recommend this to anyone who needs a pocket or bag stable pick me up treat or finds that a little taste of the magic is what you need to really focus at work. It tastes good, works well and does what the package says it does. I almost want to put a big rubber band around my hardhat just so I can wear a can as cool as the product photos. Also I should add it's not you, the can is unique and it will confuse everyone but you once you learn to open and close it just so. I can see these cans living a long and varied life in my collections of things as they stay closed, open effortlessly and are unique.

I am not a doctor, but my mom is being treated for brain cancer and was getting headaches. This stuff knocks them out when nothing else was working. YMMV.

Nice retro tin; really hasn't changed much in 80 odd years, filled to the brim with a nice bitter dark caffeinated chocolate that looks like someones dipped a clay pigeon target in brown paint to make it harder to hit.
Has always seemed fairly shelf stable as it doesn't melt or bloom readily which makes it more of a morale booster when you crack open that iconic tin. I've sat at the top of a fair few mountains munching on a couple of blocks with a strong black coffee laced with whisky; this is the perfect accompaniment if you ask me. My climbing partners were always happy to see the red and white tin come out and would hover nearby so that they'd be offered a couple of pieces.
I've also tried the milk chocolate version and its nice but I prefer the dark one. Unfortunately I've never managed to try the milk chocolate hazelnut variant but will definitely buy some if you ever stock it!
The tin is handy for storing little small odd bits of kit like a sewing set or stove parts so they're worth holding onto.
As always you folks amaze me as to how quickly you get products out to customers, I had my latest batch delivered to my door here in the wilds of Scotland in a couple of days (along with my rather nice Krampus piggie patch). I'd decided to get a couple as stocking fillers for some friends Christmases.
Thanks again for the great service, I think the Advent Calendar you're running if good fun.
All the best and hope you all have a great Christmas and New Year
