- Water-repellent SoftShell outer
- PrimaLoft® 100 g Gold performance insulation
- Extended gauntlet cuff with adjustable ladder lock pull tab
- 5 mm padded knuckle protection plus Armortex® thumb saddle, fingertip, and palm reinforcement
Features
Combining functionality and heat is always a compromise. Thick Wookie mittens keep your fingers warm but prevent you from doing anything, and skin-tight precision gloves allow all the ninja tricks but with frozen fingers. These are somewhere in between. They have quite nice insulation but you can still do stuff.
The gloves protect you from the evil wind, repel water, and they have 100g/m2 PrimaLoft® insulation. Furthermore, they feature padded knuckles, and rugged Armortex® reinforcement.
Because of the insulation and reinforcements, the fingers are fairly thick, so they’re not ideal for shooting or other tasks that require fine motorics. However, shoveling snow, using machinery, construction, and various other outdoor tasks in winter work very well. They offer a very good grip and protect your fingers and knuckles from getting bloody.
The manufacturer mentions that you can use the touchscreen with the forefinger but it pretty much means that you can answer the phone or otherwise swipe with it. Writing text or selecting numbers is quite a soul-eating experience.
Manufactured by Mechanix Wear
Mechanix Wear is one of the most well-known glove companies in military circles. As the name might indicate, they were originally made for mechanics who value dexterity. However, they quickly found their way into military use since dexterity is also vital when using firearms. Nowadays Mechanix gloves are used by soldiers all over the world.

Miinusta: Aavistuksen liian paksu etusormi, jotta mahtuisi helposti RK-62:sen liipasinkaaren sisään. Pystyy kyllä ampumaan kotimaisella RK:lla, mutta joutuu hieman hakemaan paikkaa mistä saa sormen liipasinkaaren sisään. Itäisen AK-variantin kanssa menee helposti liipasinkaaren sisään. Aavistuksen liian isot, jotta mahtuisi edellisen mallin Särmä TST M05 taisteluhousujen reisitaskuun niin että saisi napin kiinni helposti.
Suosittelen varauksella S-kokoa, mikäli se omaan käteen sopii. Yllä mainitut ongelmat todennäköisesti pahenee isommilla kourilla.
